Math Placement Test Taught - Do You Know the Difference Between a Math Placement Test and a Computer Simulation?
Math Placement Test Taught - Do You Know the Difference Between a Math Placement Test and a Computer Simulation? It is a known fact that there are many differences in math placement test takers. The only thing that they all have in common is that they have to pass the test. What is more difficult to deal with is the fact that there are a lot of myths regarding this. There are many people who believe that students who pass the test and are accepted to any college or university should not get into the program simply because they did not pass the placement test. Here are some tips to help you along the way. First, you have to know what it is that you want to get out of the class. Next, you have to find out if the tutors are able to teach you the skills that you need. You have to ensure that the tutor is a good one. If you do not understand something that they are teaching, you should ask them to explain it to you. Finally, you have to be sure that the test that you are going to take is a r eal test and not just a computer simulation. It is always better to get something that will help you learn rather than having nothing at all. Also, you should definitely not use the test that is provided in the book to help you learn. Instead, you should do a practice test first so that you can evaluate the tests that you will be taking. If the test is real, then it is a test that you have to take seriously. You cannot make the best use of the time that you spend studying. It is important that you do not waste any time on the test because there are other things that you can focus on.It is possible that a student could be suspended or even expelled for failing a test. All these results can happen because of the tests that are administered by the university. You have to make sure that you pass the placement test so that you can successfully transfer to any college or university that you wish to go to.A quality test can help you learn how to do calculations and also give you an idea abo ut how the topics are treated. You should also ensure that the tutors do not speak in front of you. This is because the questions are not ones that you would be exposed to in a normal classroom. You should make use of your personal opinion. Do not use the course material to formulate your own idea because there is no point in doing so. You have to make sure that you are confident enough to speak up when you feel that you are being misled.

Solving Proportions - Maths Online Tutoring
Solving Proportions - Maths Online Tutoring Polynomial in math means an equation containing two or more than two term. The word poly means many. Each term can consists of one or more than one unknown variables with different coefficients and constant numbers. Each variable can have different exponent values. The highest exponent is called as the degree of the polynomial. There are various mathematical operations which are used to simplify and solve the given polynomial. Example 1: Simplify the polynomial expression, 5 x4 2 x3 + x2 3 x + 2 when given x = 1. Solution: The above algebraic expression contains variable x with different exponents. Degree of the polynomial is equal to 4. So substituting x = 1 in the place of x in the above polynomial expression, we get 5 (1)4 2 (1)3 + (1)2 3 (1) + 2 5 (1) 2 (1) + (1) 3 (1) + 2; 5 - 2+ 1 - 3 + 2 = 3 The value of the above polynomial expression is 3. Example 2: Simplify the polynomial expression, x5 5 x3 + x2 + 5 x + 1 when given x = -1. Solution: The above algebraic expression contains variable x with different exponents. Degree of the polynomial is equal to 5. So substituting x = -1 in the place of x in the above polynomial expression, we get (-1)5 5 (-1)3 + (-1)2 + 5 (-1) + 1 (-1) + 5 (1) + (1) - (5) + 1; -1 + 5 + 1 - 5 + 1 = 1 The value of the above polynomial expression is 1.

Superbug Now Reported In The U.S.
Superbug Now Reported In The U.S. Photo Via: http://patrick.net On Thursday, researchers reported the sudden appearance of a much dreaded, drug-resistant, âsuperbug,â for the first time in the U.S. This superbug has a particular genetic variation that makes it completely unstoppable, even by the last-ditch antibiotic called colistin. Itâs already made appearances in Europe and in China, but this is the first time it has appeared in the U.S, which is making doctors extremely worried for the health of the general population. Still, this isnât something to be worried about quite yet. This first appeared in a case with a woman in Pennsylvania that had symptoms of a UTI (urinary tract infection) but instead had a mutated, E. coli germ. Still, there hasnât been any large-scale spread of the bug, and this particular one was actually susceptible to other drugs. So what exactly is the problem? To put it simply: there is a mutated gene in this bug thatâs making it drug-resistant. This gene, called the mcr-1, is passed from bacteria to bacteria. It sits on plasmid, a material within a bacteria, and waits to be passed to the next one. The problem is that this E. coli bacteria that houses the mcr-1 gene might actually get passed to another superbug with mutations of its own, creating a bug that isnât at all susceptible to any known antibiotics. According to Dr. Tom Frieden, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, âIf such a superbug spread, it would take the world back to a time when there were no antibiotics ⦠It is the end of the road for antibiotics unless we act urgently.â Luckily, this bug is staying under wraps for now, as the woman in which we first saw the mutated gene hadnât travelled and luckily hadnât passed this to anyone else. Since this case, researchers have been on the lookout for any sign of another case, and unfortunately came across one. This new case was reportedly found this past Thursday. Itâs another E. coli bacteria that houses the mcr-1 mutation. And because the bit of DNA present is something that bacteria can easily swap amongst themselves, this mutation helps it to fight off the effects of colistin. According to Frieden, âIt was an old antibiotic, but it was the only one left for what I called nightmare bacteria, carbapenem-resistant enterobacteriaceae, or CRE.â And luckily, the mutated bacteria ended up being susceptible to carbapenems. However, it was still resistant to many other antibiotics. So weâre not completely out of the woods yet. Of course, this search for the mutation has only been underway for about three weeks, so thereâs no telling how widespread the bacteria has gone. According to Frieden, âWe know now that the more we look, the more we are going to find ⦠The more we look at drug resistance, the more concerned we become.â This same mutation was already recently found in a pig. According to the report: âOut of 949 animal samples screened so far, one strain of colistin-resistant E. coli was found in a pig intestinal sample The DNA sequence of this isolate revealed that the strain contained the mcr-1 gene on a plasmid. The scientists also determined that the mcr-1 carrying colistin-resistant E. coli is resistant to other antiobiotics including ampicillin, streptomycin, sulfisoxazole, and tetracycline.â The CDC has been warning the public about this drug-resistant bacteria for years. In fact, it has actually been urging drug companies to begin developing new antibiotics and urging the public to utilize the ones currently available to protect themselves against this superbug potential. Even though this woman in Pennsylvania appears to be an isolated case, the state health department is still working with the CDC to test the patient and her family as well as others in the area to ensure this bacteria hasnât spread. This is especially dangerous because there are no illnesses or symptoms necessarily involved with this bacteria, so the carrier may not even know they have it. Because of this, the researchers are asking that everyone be on alert as research progresses. Of course, there have been similar reports of patients carrying the bacteria that houses the mcr-1 mutation in other countries, but these reports are very skimpy on details as well. And to add to the problem, colistin, that last-ditch antibiotic, is typically unused because of the harsh side-effects including major kidney damage. And, to top it all off, several of these international cases in which patients have been infected involve a CRE bacteria that carries the mcr-1 gene mutation. And if this is happening in other countries, itâs probably already here as well. And to make matters worse, bacteria actually develops resistance to drugs fairly quickly so even if there were an option, it wonât be a viable one for very long. According to the CDC, âmore than two million people are infected by drug-resistant germs each year, and 23,000 die of their infections.â So in the near future, itâs going to be extremely important that we keep an eye on our health, and be sure to stay up-to-date on the news, just in case this becomes a national crisis. 5 Ways To Make Cooking Food Easier For Students
5 Ways To Make Cooking Food Easier For Students Image via Pixabay If you like to cook dishes that require chopped or diced vegetables (mushroom and tomato egg sandwich, for instance), chop everything on the weekends and put your diced veggies into small containers. This way when youâre running late and find yourself hungry, you wonât have an excuse not to use the ingredients since theyâll already be prepared and ready to throw into an omelet, rice bowl, or sandwich. 2. Obtain many sizes of Tupperware. You likely already realize that cooking your own meals is cheaper than buying food in cafés and restaurants on campus or downtown. However, youâll need some way to take your homemade foods with you on the go that doesnât result in macaroni and cheese exploding all over your laptop or peach juice ruining your notebook for computer science class. College students should have a variety of Tupperware container sizes on hand to make transporting food easy. Large department stores such as Target sell plastic storage containers for just a few dollars, and they come in many sizes and shapes to suit any type of food. Look for the containers that are microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe to avoid a fiasco at home. 3. Research cool inexpensive recipes online. Making eating affordable for college students is a hot topic right now in the way of recipes, and more and more articles are popping up on the internet about making a weekâs worth of dinners from $15 worth of ingredients and how to use one food six different ways. Itâs become a challenge to balance a tight budget with healthy eating, and if you find yourself struggling to make use of certain ingredients or youâre having trouble knowing what to cook at all, look up a few different articles on easy, inexpensive recipes you can make with a few ingredients. Many of these articles are also written for those with special diet restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten free, dairy free, etc.) so no student should have much trouble finding some recipes they can make for a small amount of money. On a related note, look out for âone pot recipesâ on the internet. These recipes are great because they are exactly what they sound like: they take only one pot to make. Students shouldnât have to worry about doing a sink full of dishes every day, so identifying recipes you can cook in just one pot will save you hassle during cleanup. Plus, one pot recipes are often the simplest recipes in general, so any meal made in one pot shouldnât require too much extensive cooking skills or complexity. 4. Make a meal schedule. Donât you hate the feeling of finding zucchini molding in the back of your fridge because you forgot you had it? Or did you buy a carton of eggs in the store only to come home and find that you already had 20 eggs? Its so easy to forget what food you have in your fridge when youre at the grocery store and everything looks tasty. The best way to make use of every ingredient you buy? Make a schedule of what meals youll have for breakfast, lunch and dinner each week. Image via Flickr Not only will this help you use all of what you buy, but itll help you plan grocery shopping trips at the best times. Plus, you can look forward to planning tasty meals and knowing when youâll have your favorite foods during a given week. Write out your meal schedule on a dry erase board or large poster paper and hang it in your kitchen or somewhere you can refer back to it. 5. Buy fresh ingredients rather than frozen food. College students inevitably need their food to be as easy as possible, and for most of us that means buying nearly everything imaginable in frozen form. Its microwaveable, its easy, but its often more expensive because of this convenience. To stretch your money as far as possible, buy your vegetables and fruits fresh or in bulk. If you want, you can buy a lot of produce and freeze some of it for future use, and itâll be just like buying it straight from the frozen section (but probably with fresher flavor and ripeness). Itâs typically true that buying anything fresh is cheaper than its frozen version. With enough planning and intention put into your meal preparation, college students can still eat well and have enough time for everything else in their lives. Good nutrition should never be sacrificed no matter how busy a schedule you have.

Green Tea is a traditional beverage prepared by pouring hot water over cured leaves of the plant Camellia sinensis. Green tea, unlike other teas, is not fermented, the leaves are lightly steamed before being dried. Steaming inactivates the enzymes thus preserving the polyphenols, the active components in the herb. Green tea has a variety of positive health benefits, including reducing the risk of cancer and heart diseases, preventing artritis and tooth decay, promoting weight loss, reducing blood pressure, improving brain performance and having anti-ageing properties.
